Thematic reports cover a specific thematic issue relevant to the mandate relevant to the mandate along with recommendations to better promote and protect FoAA rights . Each report contains in-depth research into the thematic issue and a series of concrete recommendations and suggestions for improving the issue at hand. Recently covered themes include the challenges of protecting FOAA rights in the digital era, the role of women in civil society and the need to protect FOAA rights in order to tackle the eradication of poverty.
The reports are classified into two groups: those that are presented annually to the UN Human Rights Council and those presented to the UN General Assembly.
