U.N. also criticizes Security bill, what letter to Meloni government asking to change it says

Six UN Special Rapporteurs sent a letter to the Meloni government expressing deep concern about the draft Security Law, currently under debate in the Senate, and highlighting the risk of violations of fundamental human rights. The lead rapporteur stressed that the measures envisaged, such as prison sentences for peaceful demonstrators and restrictions on freedom of assembly, movement and expression, are excessive and contrary to Italy’s international obligations, and called for the bill to be urgently amended to comply with the principles of legality, proportionality and non-discrimination, thus safeguarding democracy and minority rights.
